McDonald's Corp

McDonald's Corporation operates and franchises McDonald's restaurants, which serve food and drinks sold at various price points in more than 100 countries. The company is primarily a franchisor, with more than 80% of restaurants owned and operated by independent franchisees, and a goal of being 95% franchised. MCD generated $22.8 billion of annual sales in 2017. Results are reported under four segments: U.S., International Lead Markets, High Growth Markets, and Foundational Markets & Corporate. U.S. accounts for 35% of sales and 46% of operating income. International Lead Markets include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the U.K. and related markets. High Growth Markets are markets MCD believes have relatively higher expansion and franchising potential, including China, Italy, Korea, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and related markets. Foundational Markets and Corporate includes the remaining markets in the MCD systems as well as corporate activities. (06 Sep 2018)
