Abertis

Abertis used to be the most diversified of the European TROs by both business and geography. However, while geographic diversification continued, in 2013 Abertis divested most of its airports segment and in 2015 most of its Telecoms division, concentrating on the TRO business. Following the acquisition of OHL Brazil, Spanish firm Abertis became the world's largest toll road concessionaire. Abertis manages 1,512 km of toll roads in Spain (59% of Spain's toll road network) and 1,761 km in France through the Sanef group (21%) and 3,250 km in Brazil and 771 km in Chile. In 2016, Abertis completed an acquisition of a 51.4% stake in A4 Holding, which owns the A4 (146 km) and A31 (90 km) concessions in Italy. Pro-forma for A4 Holding acquisition, 24% of Abertis' revenue is generated by Spanish toll roads, 31% by French, 13% in Brazil, 10% in Chile, 10% in Italy, 8% in the rest of the world and ~4% from Hispasat (satellite business) and other.
